Who Would Jesus Bomb?

Back during the 2008 election, the Christian left made pacifism their rallying cry to support their peace-loving candidate against the warmonger and all around evil crusader, George W. Bush. The promise that Barack Obama was going to beat our swords into plowshares and bring peace on earth was given as a defense by the left as to why they could in good conscience vote for a pro-abortion-rights President. War, we were told, was the moral equivalent of abortion regardless of the scale of total lives lost. Therefore, Obama’s peaceful platform on not killing people in other countries made up for his support for legalized murder in our own.
But over two years later, the only “peace” we’ve been given is an ironically awarded Nobel Prize, given the President in anticipation of all the wonderful accomplishments he was going to make in furthering anti-war policies. Then we put more troops in Afghanistan. And now we’re bombing Libya.
Perhaps the likes of Brian McLaren and Donald Miller would like to now give us a reason why Barack Hussein Obama is still the political equivalent of Jesus? Perhaps they can quote us chapter and verse as to how their anti-war view of Jesus still manages to allow them to support a President who is actively dropping bombs?
Where are the t-shirts? Where are the protests? Are flaming screeds using words like “baby killer” and “warmonger” reserved only for Republican candidates?
Who would Jesus bomb? Evidently, the answer is “Libya.”

I was noticing that the Obama fairy dust doens’t seem to be working quite like it use to. It’s funny watching the liberals squirm, a few are being true to their cause and calling him out, but that liberal press is really holding back. Can you just imagine what the press would be printing about Bush had he undertaken this last Libya bombing w/out congressional approval,
The slanted liberal press in our country is very scary. What’s so scary is that most folks don’t even realize that its slanted.
You forgot about Obama’s willingness to continue to use those drones, man they are the coolest, death from the skies for these evil monsters, I love that weapons system. Prior to my police career, I was in naval intelligence, extremely familiar with that part of the country, we harassed the heck out of Qaddafi and dropped a few bombs, shot a few of their fighters down in the early 80′s, I’ll never forget some of our pilots excitement over being in their first “real” dogfights. Also remember the Beiruit bombing, one of the guys from my unit had just been to the compound the day before, I’m starting to ramble, Anyhoo, how bout we get a few drones to patrol our southern border, arm them with some kind of nasty gas that sends those invaders back to Mexico.
I agree that there are some liberals, Christian and non-Christian, who thought of Obama as a peace candidate, but I don’t think they had any reason to. He called Afghanistan the “good war” during the campaign. No one could know exactly what he was going to do, but it was clear that it wasn’t quit immediately on that war.
